You feel yourself seeking to express a freer, fuller, more creative and more expanded life. As you say YES to this life, you get happier and you find more opportunity. You will start trusting yourself and listening to that still small voice to make good choices for you.” Mary Morrissey, Life Mastery Institute

What is intuition? According to “the google” intuition is: the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning or a thing that one knows or considers likely from instinctive feeling rather than conscious reasoning.

We are born with an innate instinct for survival. Maybe this is the jumping off point for intuition? If you have ever come across a snake in your path you instinctively knew to stop, back up, run! You have other instincts that come to you as intuition. This still small voice, is not quite as  exciting as your instinct to run from a snake but it’s there to give you directions if you will listen.

Most of us keep ourselves too busy and involved in day-to-day life to consistently listen to our inner knowing. The only way I know to get and keep in contact with my intuition is through meditation. I can certainly get glimpses of  intuition at other times and hopefully I’m in a space to trust what is being conveyed but I really need to spend quality time with myself to consistently know and trust my intuitive voice. I know it’s difficult to find time to meditate. I don’t always find time but when I do life just falls into place (I should totally make a Most Interesting Man meme out of that last statement) and part of that is being in contact with my intuition or the angels who are watching over me, signaling me by planting these notes of inspiration for me to follow.

Another way to get to your intuition is through the practice of mindfulness. I have a mindfulness teacher who is brilliant, Michelle Duval.

“It’s so easy to forget, as our stress mounts and our vision constricts. I know at times it can feel like you are alone in your suffering. You’re not. The two things that every living being shares are that we all want to be happy…and we all suffer. And thankfully, the teachers of all time have traveled the paths before us, and they have left behind their road maps toward peace and mental health. It’s my life’s work to study these maps, travel them myself as best I can, and share as much of it as possible in order to bring you benefit.” Michelle Duval

You can find her guided meditations and more at her website. The thing she taught me about meditation and mindfulness is that: You only get to live in this moment, so teach your mind to experience the moment in which you are living. Bring your mind back to this present time so you can live fully right now. That is what mindfulness is and you can do it anywhere, anytime. If you are thinking about the past or the future you are not living this moment. That is not to say you shouldn’t think about the past or the future but don’t give up every moment to those thoughts.

In dream building it’s important to listen to your inner voice because it comes from you, your experiences, your instincts, this voice has your best life intention. It knows your heart even when you don’t. This is also where we get to the how of building your dream life.

I don’t know if I’ve made the point yet that you don’t need to know the “how” of getting to your dream, you just need to:Dream BIG! Write it down. Imagine it. Your intuition, your thinking, believing and subconscious will get you to the new reality. You don’t need to know how you will get there from here. It takes trust, faith and quiet time for yourself to listen to your inner voice giving you directions to move you towards your dream.  In listening to your still small voice of intuition your dream will appear….the old dream will become your new reality. Then you can start on the next dream.
